Howdy...
I was just thinking about this thing we are taught as kids.... "Always Speak The Truth"...... All of us know phrases like "Liar Liar... Pants on Fire...." Teachings, Stories with this moral teaching and so on, all teach us the same words of wisdom. Sometimes I wonder, if we have to read some one else's words of wisdom to become enlightened, Who the HELL enlightened those nuts who have written and taught all this.....
Anyways.... back to the point of experimenting with truth.... I have myself done some experiments with truth. I have also heard the same phrases and Wisdomilicious teachings about the power of truth. This power is really a force to reckon with Eh!!!!! But then I choose to differ... I realised in due course of life that it is not a question of speaking the truth or lie but a question of the Real Motive or the "Real Agenda" behind what people say. I can give you so many examples but lemme quote some words of wisdom myself from the same oooooooolllldddddddd stories which are aft quoted to us. This one is from the Panchtantra:
Speak with pleasure,
Speak with measure,
Speak with grammar's treasure,
not too much and with reflection;
deeds will follow words' direction.
Try telling the truth to your gf/wifey when asked " Does this dress make me look fat?"...... Believe me all ye people..... even if the truth is yes it does make u look fat like a cow and you blurt it out..... you will definitely be rewarded for your honesty and truthful nature...... Or try telling your bff that his/her new haircut makes him/her look like an alien just coming out of the movie Mars attacks and in a very short span of time, the only and only friend you will be left with would be your honesty and truthfulness as no human form will dare to venture near you..... probably someday even your dog will desert you and go to your neighbour......
Anyways... we all know the terms coined for such truthful people.... words like snitch, sneak, stoolie are the milder forms....... So for the love of god..... don't be a snitch...... Chillax!!!!! Life isn't about seeing things in black and white..... Everything shouldn't be classified as true or false..... Hey even we as humans are not completely good or bad.... We all have some shades of grey in our character then why is it expected that when we do speak.... everything shall be classified as truth or lie..... All that matters is the motive or the thought that goes behind every sentence we speak..... Now now now..... I am not trying to imply that we should go on speaking lies.... All I mean to say is that whatever we speak...whether a truth or a lie shouldn't have any malicious intent behind it. I believe that if someone speaks with a clear intention of not harming us in any way, we shouldn't crucify that person just for the fact that whatever was told to us was a lie....
In the end I just wanna say that speak what you wanna speak with pleasure but not with hatred or evil in your thoughts and its all that matters....... And that's the bottom line cuz StoneCold said so.........
Have u guys ever had any of ur own experiments with truth....???
well as for me i do agree to many aspects of what u said like all humans are gray and to the aspect of not to speak with hatred or evil.
ReplyDeleteBut with my experiments of truth ive come to know that its better to be atleast indirect with the truth with your loved ones.
its a nice topic to dicuss but ill leave this comment with one of the proverbs from the bible
"You have to live with the consequences of everything you say. what you say can preserve life or destroy it, so u must accept the consequences of your words"
